If
it is time for you to set up a new file system, fileWISE®
makes it easy to get started.
Basically, you can just set up your fileWISE®
Dividers
in a suitable container (such as a file cabinet, desktop
file sorter, desk drawer or other file storage
container) and then begin sorting documents into one of
the fileWISE®Divider
locations!

Whether
you are choosing a document from an unorganized pile
of
papers stacked in your office, or
basement, or in a shoe box or in a drawer somewhere … begin
by considering all documents to be in one of two stages:
Stage 1: Documents that require a task or activity, before
being
filed in the fileWISE®
system.
Starting at the top of the pile, identify what task
or action each
document will require. Then place the
document in the appropriate Action
File. Generally,
the Action
File Dividers are
used to sort and manage all of your incoming paperwork on
a daily basis. Use these dividers to prioritize the tasks
associated with incoming paperwork, and
to eliminate a cluttered desktop.
Stage 2. Documents requiring no action. File these immediately
in the fileWISE®
System.
Using the Universal File Index, you can look up keywords that
are related to the document you intend to file. The Universal
File Index will indicate suggested locations within the fileWISE®
system
where you can store the document.
Or simply review the index of document types printed on the
Primary Category Dividers to search for a fileWISE®
Category
/ Sub-category best suited to file your document in.
Either way, you'll be on your way to starting a consistent and
easy method of organizing both stages of documents, every day!
Continue the tour by learning how fileWISE®
helps
you convert an existing file system.
