User Guide

Contained in the popular Adobe Acrobat PDF (portable document format), the User Guide contains instructions on how to set up and use the system's components, and also contains a list of all of the system's subject classifications, categories and sub-categories.

But the User Guide is much more than just a "digital book!" The Guide also includes several interactive tools that make filing easy and even fun!

Searchable Universal File Index
The fact is, different people label their files differently.

That's why we created the Universal File Index. This index alphabetically lists hundreds of different descriptions of common types of personal and business documents, as well as the location where these documents can be found in the FileWISE system.

Using the Adobe keyword search tool, you can search across the entire index, or you can print out the index and refer to it when needed!

Document Retention Guidelines
Disposing of outdated documents is critical to maintaining an organized filing system.

The FileWISE User Guide contains printable, and searchable document retention guidelines for the Home Edition, and contains links to business records retention resources for the Business Edition.

FileWISE "Classification Wizard" Utility

Once you have made a selection,  your selection will appear in the FileWISE Primary Class, Category, and Sub-Category classification boxes, and you can assign your document to that specific location in the system!


Finding the right location to store documents and files is easy using the FileWISE ™ Classification Wizard.

This unique tool utilizes a "Smart Index," that contains thousands of pre-loaded keywords associated with
FileWISE ™ Categories and Sub-Category locations.

Here's how it works:

Step 1.
Identify your your document / file as either "Home" or Business"

Step 2.
Type in a keyword(s) related to the document or file you want to store.

Step 3.
Select an index entry that matches your search.

Step 4.
Select an appropriate
FileWISE ™ classification from the suggested list of
FileWISE ™ locations.





Label Creation Utility

Labeling your documents and file folders with a consistent file name and location will help reduce and even eliminate costly misfiles.

The Label Creation Utility allows you to create labels that contain the FileWISE filing system where you can select from over 500 label titles pre-installed in the utility, representing all of the FileWISE categories and sub-categories.

Plus, you can also create custom labels to use for any of your labeling needs. This utility supports all major label manufacturer's styles and sizes.

You can even save labels as templates that you can use again in the future.




Custom Index Utility

This utility allows you to create a customized Master File Index (file inventory) that lists the names and locations of all of your files (or just really important files).

The utility uses a familiar Windows –Explorer type of application, so you can drag and drop document and folder names anywhere within your custom index. The utility even allows to search and find documents or folders from the index instantly, using a keyword search tool!
